Abstract:
Sudanese Bioinformatics Network SBN is developed as a web-based system, which provides a knowledge environment with visual interface to integrate major information about the field of Bioinformatics in Sudan. We collected the information from the Information Science Instituted (ISI) web of science, Science Direct, scientific databases, sited papers and field workers in Sudan through direct communication. Then we developed and used a relational database management system (MySQL) to manage the information of these data. The developed SBN consists of four databases: Cancer, Cases, GMFood and SudaneseDNABank. Each database contains relevant information about the topic. In conclusion , We have managed to establish a scientific website titled ‘‘Sudanese Bioinformatics Network (SBN)’’1 along with additional information on Bioinformatics, GM food, cancers, supplementary materials and related information. This will be an important tool for researchers in the field of Bioinformatics locally, regionally and internationally.
