Abstract:
This research is entiteled: “Disagreements of Imam Al alawi on Ibn Al-Atheer’s
rehtoric opinions in the two books of (“Al-Mathal Assair Fi Adab AlKatib wal Shair” by
Ibn Al-Atheer and “Al-Tiraaz” by Imam Al-Alawi). Where Al- Imam Al-Alawi
reject many of Ibn Al-Atheers rehetoric opinions.
The research aimed at the following.
Firstly. Mentioning of the controversied issues between Ibn Al- Atheer and
Al-Alawi to reach to either preference or docuementation.
Secondly: Caring for the books of Arabic heritage; no doubt that the book of
(Al-mathal Assair) and (Attriraz) are cansidered among the classic books of Arabic
reheoric.
Thirdly: Knowing the life history of Ibn Al-Atheer and Al-Alawi as tow im-
portant figures of Arabic rehetorec.
Fourthly: Accepting or regecting the claims of Ibn Al-Al Atheer throush re-
search experiment. The research followied the discriptive, analytic and compara-
tive methodlogy.

One: Ibn al A-Atheer wsas knowledgable and a writen of many books despite
his being occupied by politics which means theat he who excelling in all fiedls.
Two: Ibn Al-Atheer revised some of his previous opinions concering some
rehertoric concepts such as (Iltifa = changing in seech one pronoun by an other)
anddifferentiation between itnab (Prolonged speech) and tatweel (prolonged dis-
course).
Three: Ibn Al-Atheer was prior to Al-Alawi and Al-Alawi made use of Ibn Al-
Atheer in many of his opinions and that Al-Alawi was moderate in his criticsm.
Four: Imam Al-Alawi would not contradict except when he explained the lim-
its and convinced his opponant.
Five: His contradictions were confined to Bayan and Maani (rehtoric and Se-
mantics) sciences and not in the Badi science.
These are the researchers re commendations:
firstly: Studying the objections Ibn Abi Al-Hadead against (Al-Mathal Al
Sair).
Secondly: Prepration of a research about Imam Al-Alawi as a religions scholar
because he write book in the fields of origin of religion, distribution of in heritence,
propletic life, jurisprudence, faith and sufism.
Thirdly: Preperation of a research about Ibn Al-Atheer as a politician and a
minister, i.e the second side of his life because historians were not fair to him as
the re searcher believes.
