Abstract:
This study was conducted to investigate the level of two antibiotic residues
(Neomycin and Tylosin) in dairy milk by Enzyme- Linked Immuno Sorbent
Assay, and to detect and evaluate the levels of Aflatoxin M1 in raw dairy milk
by VICAM Flurometer in Khartoum state. In 64 milk samples the presence of
Neomycin and Tylosin were detected in all collected samples (100%) in high
concentration levels. In 50 raw dairy milk samples the presence of Aflatoxin M1
were detected with high concentrations in 49 (98%) of detected samples. The
results were higher than the maximum tolerance limit (50 ng/l) accepted by
FDA, Codex Alimentarius Commissions (CAC), and European Union countries.
Statistical evaluations showed 95% confidence interval with significant
differences between the three detected districts (P = 0.05) for neomycin as well
as tylosin. The high mean of Tylosin in (Khartoum: Mean ± STD=0.79 ± 0.76,
(Khartoum north: Mean ± STD=0.69 ± 0.70) and Omdurman (: Mean ±
STD=0.82 ± 0.88) respectively. and in Neomycin The high mean in (Khartoum:
Mean ± STD=3.43±0.29, (Khartoum north: Mean ± STD= 3.010±3.22) and
Omdurman (Mean ± STD=2.10±0.34) respectively. In this study, Aflatoxin
M1(AFM1) concentration in milk was higher in (Khartoum Mean: 2.73±Std:
2.72, (Khartoum north Mean: 0.78± STD: 1.45) and Omdurman (Mean: 1.32±
STD: 2.83) respectively (P<0.05).
