Abstract:
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of using a Learning Package in teaching Solar System. The study also aimed to show the importance of using Learning Package in teaching Solar System at the Basic level Schools, particularly in motivating pupils to know the basic concept of Solar System, names of Planets, and the differences between a Planet and the moons.
Learning package has been designed to improve Computer Integrated Learning Activities in Classroom; in order to help pupils in acquiring learners to demonstrate a better understanding of the distinct modes in which technology can be used to enhance learning and determine the attributes of each subset of the concept multimedia.
Four hypotheses were set for this study, to check whether threse hypotheses could be confirmed or not, the researcher applied the mentioned learning package to a sample of 30 student and 20 teacher as an experiment to measure the effect of using Learning Package in teaching Solar System.
The data analysis has revealed that the four hypotheses are confirmed. The results obtained have shown that using Learning Package is of great effect in teaching Solar System. Also it is found that it help in raising student motivation, which makes teaching Solar System a much easier task.
Based on the research findings the researcher has made some recommendations that the use of computer in teaching science is useful and very effective, when learners take suitable time to work through the program. Teachers try to mix between constructivism and Behaviourism to make the lesson very rich and effective, so this helps to achieve objective by easy way. When using Macro, learners have to be shown the basic requirements on (Read Me file)(MS 2000 is the best office for designing Macro. Or design in office XP) that it can run in any system. DVD from the movie file is also considered to be easy in usage.
