Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to explore spectral monitoring involves the use of tools and techniques to analyze the radio spectrum. Spectrum monitoring provides users, regulators, and other groups with valuable information on how the spectrum is being used. From a regulatory perspective, spectrum monitoring ensures that spectrum users are adhering to local regulations and licensing parameters to minimize interference among users of the spectrum. Communication providers or owners of the spectrum may perform monitoring tasks to ensure proper operation of their systems or to troubleshoot interference problems.
To achieve these objectives the study contains theoretical and practical parts in spectrum monitoring is one of important of four key spectrum management functions that include spectrum planning, spectrum engineering and spectrum authorization. Spectrum monitoring helps spectrum managers to plan and use frequencies, avoid incompatible usage, and identify sources of harmful interference. Key spectrum monitoring activities explained in this section include data collection and compliance enforcement.
Finally, the study present some recommendations as: Spectrum monitoring activities and offers valuable information to many bodies looking to characterize the radio frequency environment in Sudan and gather information to support their various missions in country. The aim is to facilitate the application process and help to foster the understanding of applicants on the approach and policy adopted by the regulator in Sudan National Telecommunications Corporation (NTC) and we find much information a fruitful avenue for further research.
