Abstract:
This study aims to investigate The Impact of instrumental motivation in teaching English in secondary School. Also it aims at enabling the teachers as well as learners to understand the role of instrumental motivation, a rousing the awareness and interest in teachers towards foreign language and encouraging teachers to pay attention to the importance of feed back and students encouragement.
In this study the researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method. The population was students of secondary school.
The sample of the study consist of 90 students from wad Elsaih secondary school.
The researcher used a questionnaire as a tool for data collection after analysis of data the following results were obtained.
Teacher offer enough motivation to their secondary school student to learn English language through direct encouragement, teacher offer enough motivation to their secondary school student to learn English language through effective interaction and teacher offer enough motivation to their secondary school student through teaching performance.
At the end of the study the researcher presented a number of recommendations.
School and classroom environment activities play great role in motivating students to learn the foreign language, teachers are advised to use appropriate visual aids which enable him/her to avoid long confusing explanation, at the same time they help the teacher to have a lively class, adopt material to local realities, and pedagogical experts, syllabus designer and educational administrator should consider motivation for the sake of enjoyable fruitful learning.
