Abstract:
The present paper is intends to study and scrutinize translation techniques at the undergraduate level, by the department of translation, College of languages, Sudan University of Science and Technology, with the aim of exploring and developing aspects of communicative competence and language awareness .this paper uses the descriptive analytical method to analyze the data. The population are undergraduate students,3rd year, college of languages, Sudan University of Science and Technology. The study is apply to 3rd year students studying translation .The main purpose of this paper is to probe how translation techniques contribute to promote Sudanese students culture, it intends to unite them in using one terminology in order to unite the contexts, also the research detects whether translation process assists in developing student skills and help in solving the problem. The teachers responses about translation process that would be agree with the following, enable students to understand literary texts and promote the students to expand literary texts also to tackle a high correlation between teaching translation and improving the students’ understanding in order to allow students to become aware about how information is organized in English translation texts, also setting up realistic tasks, which are relevant to students life. , translation questions are consider in the examinations, students should pay more attentions about the rules of translation in order to promote their ability.
