Abstract:
This study was conducted to identify and analyze the impact of water harvesting technology to reduce poverty in East Darfur State. where the researcher used the case study approach and he collect the initial information through the interview with questionnaire design to cover the research community, where the respondents were selected by stratified sample, which they are the farmers in East Darfur State who have used the water harvesting technology in Shearia and Baheralarab localities , the secondary information was also collected through books scientific references, scientific papers and others , and the data were analyzed by using (SPSS ) for social sciences at chi square level 0.5) the study reached the most important results were:
Most of the 90 % of respondents were married and this due to the culture of society ,92% of respondents were affected by poverty, and after implementing of water harvesting technology 100% of respondent are able to meet the needs of theirs families ,80% of them emphasized the feasibility of the water harvesting and its great impact of their lives , however the study came out with number of recommendations, for example: taking care and focus on water harvesting technnology, and providing information to the respondents in the area , conducting more training on water harvesting technique among farmers and pastoralists , paying attention to rural education and activating literacy and adult education program , in addition to encouraging applied studies that address the problems of water scarcity in the region.
