Abstract:
This was descriptive cross sectional study aimed to evaluate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease using non enhanced computed tomography, and to correlate fatty infiltration with age, gender, weight, and Hounsfield unit.
Done on the computed tomography department of East Nile Hospital (Toshiba 160 slice),Alribat university hospital (omersawi) (Newsoft 64 slice) , and Albugaa specialist hospital (GE 64 slice). In the period from September 2018 to December 2018 andthe study was classified and analyzed by statistical package.
The data collection done on 50 patients randomly (20males and 30females) their age between (27-82), when attending to the department of computed tomography for abdomen and kidney, ureter and bladder. The study found that most common age group affected with non alcoholic fatty liver disease was elderly age group and most of them were female, most of them were diabetic, most of cases were diffuse fatty infiltration, the study concluded there was strong correlation between degree of fatty infiltration and Hounsfield unit.
Study concluded that computed tomography scan is accurate method indetectnonalcohlic fatty liver disease and access degree of fatty infiltration by measuring Hounsfield unit.
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease most common in elderly age group. And most common in female..
The recommendation measurement of the volume of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and compared with normal volume of liver.
