Abstract:
This work has been carried out in Khartoum State, Sudan.
Acase study has been conducted and done at two factories which are Alwabel and Lima Factories.
The factories are work in the field of water production to be fit for human consumption and domestic uses.
This study aims to achieve the standards of improving the quality of drinking water in Khartoum state (A case study of ALWABEL and LIMA Factory).
The objectives of this study: is to study the efficiency of Reverse Osmosis Desalination System in improving the quality of drinking water to protect the public health, analyze the drinking water to determine the physical and chemical characteristics and compare the results with the national standards. This is a descriptive analytical research which intends to analyze the current situation of drinking water desalination in Khartoum State.
To achieve the aims of the study afield study was conducted, water samples were analyzed and the results were discussed. According to the results, the technique of the Reverse Osmosis is a modern and effective technique in removing the salts and making the water drinkable.
The most important recommendations: adequate funding to improve the laboratories in factories, Attention from responsible, further studies to ensure continuous improvement, periodic tests of water samples and developing the technology to reduce water losses
