Abstract:
This study investigated the impact of using computers on
enhancing EFL writing. This research also studied EFL learners’
attitudes towards using computers as a writing tool in an EFL
classroom. The subjects of the study were pupils from Muheydeen
Wahbe Secondary School for Girls. The methodology used in this
study is a set of a pre and post writing tests that were administered
to the participants. The participants also responded to a
questionnaire that investigated the use of computers in EFL writing
classrooms. The data in this study have been analyzed using SPSS
software and presented in a form of frequency and percentage.
The findings of this study illustrated that most of the pupils
benefited more from using computers as a tool for enhancing writing
in an EFL classroom. Also, this study proved that pupils have high
motivation when computers were used in an EFL writing classroom.
Through this study, it could be concluded that:
- The use of computers in an EFL writing classroom should be
encouraged and applied in all schools.
- Concerning English teachers, they should have pursued the recent
technology and involved themselves on in-service training
programs.
- Computer should be used basically in teaching and learning of
writing skills.
