Abstract:
This study aims to find out the errors encountered by
Sudanese students at grade three secondary schools while using
vocabulary; and analyzing it trying to find some solutions for
them.
To collect data for this study, the researcher has followed the
descriptive and the analytic method. The researcher has
designed a test to 100 students (Boys/Girls) at grade three
Sudanese Secondary Schools, Khartoum Locality. The results of
the study are as follow:
- The students have difficulty when they use vocabulary.
- The students do not know the parts of speech, so they
misuse the suffixes.
- The students do not know the meaning of the prefixes.
- The students do not know the spelling rules.
To collect data for this study, the researcher followed the
descriptive method and the analytic method so he made a
vocabulary test for 100 students (male and female) at grade
three at Sudanese secondary schools, Khartoum Locality. The
results of the study were as the following:
- Students do not know well how to use suffixes.
- Students do not know how to deal with prefixes.
- Students do not know well how deal with spelling rules.
According to the results above, the researcher recommends the
following:

Students should be taught the rules of the Prefixes and
Suffixes.
- Spelling rules should be taught.
- Dictation should be tested.
