Abstract:
This study was carried out to evaluate the role of multidetector computed tomography angiography in imaging and diagnosis renal arteries in kidney donors.
This study was carried out in Royal scan, Ibn Alhytham centre and Khartoum scan centre where 30 patients were collected randomly from different ages and different gender, this study has been carried out in 6-11 months.
They underwent MDCT renal angiogram, The study conclude that MDCTA could evaluate renal arteries in donors by 87% of them is normal and free from any anomalies, 10% had double renal artery in Rt kidney and 3% had AVM. So that the MDCTA succeeded to exclude 4 subjects from donation, donor with AVM and the other had double renal arteries.
With MDCTA the time and the radiation dose is decreased, also can obtain high images quality.
