Abstract:
Evaluation system and its processes constitute the most important component in
the whole educational instruction, because it assesses the educational operation,
and then diagnoses the weakness.
The research statement focused on studying the psychological impact of
evaluation system on university students in Sudan. The study is an attempt to
reveal these psychological influences upon university students which might be
due to the methods, approaches, and procedures of evaluation. The objective of
the study is to exhibit the importance of evaluation procedures on educational
processes and its psychological impact on students.
The sample of population was university students and staff members from three
universities in Khartoum State (Khartoum University, Sudan University for
Sciences & Technology, and Ahfad University for Women). The sample size was
(419) university students including both males and females, and (56) university
staff members.
For data collection questionnaires was distributed among the two samples of the
study (both students and staff members) and a psychological scale was given to
the students only to manifest anxiety. Data obtained was processed and analyzed
by SPSS Package.
The research concluded the following finding:
Analysis revealed that there is a significant correlation between sex, class-level,
specialization and types of evaluation for students, and proved that there is a
relation between evaluation's procedures, types, students' performance, and
positive correlation between an effective- teaching on curriculum development for
staff-members.
The study recommended on;
State rules and regulations concerning evaluation system. Establish centers for
training staff members in various educational fields such as; educational
technology, advisory of students and counseling skills.
