Abstract:
This experiment was conducted in the Fisheries lab of the Sudan University of Science and Technology during the period from 6 July to 7 September 2015 .The objective of the study was evaluate the effect of feeding graded levels of diets contained gum Arabicon the growth performance of Oreochromis niloticacus fingerlings. A total of 150 tilapia were randomly assigned to five dietary treatments (0, 3, 6, 9, and 12% gum Arabic), each treatment was composed of three replicates (10 fish/replicate).Water quality parameters in this experiment were not at an appropriate level, that causing a negative impact on growth performance in dex. No significant differences (p>0.05) were observed in all treatments. Lowest levels of survival rate 63.33%was noted in fish fed with the diet containing the level of gum Arabic (12%), although it recorded the best effect in growth index.
