Abstract:
The study aims to indentify , assets and investigate the type of spelling error that are Sudan university of science & technology it also attempts to explore the reasons behind this spelling errors and provides scientific solution to overcome them .
The study reviews some studies relevant spelling skills are presents some tips and implication for teaching spelling .
Then , the study describe the tools for collecting data , the participants and the method are applied by researcher .
The data have been analyzed by using statistical and analyzes of quantitative data .
The result show that they are many reasons behind spelling error such as English spelling is different from Arabic , student write word as the pronounced them , irregularity of English Sound and letter and mother tongue interference .
Finally the study recommends that the teacher should give the students time and a lot of practices in spelling skill and E FL teachers . Need to adopt suitable approaches to teach spelling . The study suggests the EFL teachers, researcher and competence authorities should conduct some studies , arrange conferences and workshops address all English probes in Sudan
