Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to determine the causes of abnormal vaginal
bleeding in non pregnant females find out any sonographical markers. It was
carried out on 50 patients complaining of abnormal vaginal bleeding in Bahri city
4included Hospitals and Clinics. The study was conducted from August up to
December 2014. The machines used in the study were Toshiba with 3-5 MHz and
probes was convex with frequencies ranging from 3-4MHz. All patients were
prepared and examend with full bladder -all patients were scanned in supine
position technique.
After the detailed literary work the study comes to conclusion that fibroid is the
commonest cause of abnormal vaginal bleeding which is constitute 44%, the others
factors of abnormal vaginal bleeding include bulky uterus 20%, ovarian cyst 14%
ovarian masses 12% iucd 4% cervical mass 4% and chorion carcinoma 2%
The study reveal that the incidence of abnormal vaginal bleeding is more common
in patients of age 25-34
