Abstract:
No doubt that the spread of mobile phones has helped to provide a
number of high-value services and modern technologies cover all spects
of life and financial transactions, certainly the most common of which is
the e-commerce, e-banking and payment services via mobile phone.The
study investigated the possibility of the application of M-PESA system
in Sudan in terms of technological development, legal and regulatory
framework for electronic payment compared to Kenya. The study relied
on personal interviews and questionnaire as survey tool to collect data
then analyzed by (SPSS) and the key result of the study is the intention
and desire of interviewees in the introduction of M-PESA service in
Sudan. This can be achieved, provided a number of factors are med,
including a slew of organized legislation to electronic payment and
infrastructure of communication companies and the reduction that have
occurred in transaction fees and the existence of agents for service in
rural areas and the stability of the network and its expansion then
remains the provision of training provided to users on the service. Those
are the most important factors that emphasize the importance the
introduction of (M -Pesa) service in Sudan. This study contributes to the
body of knowledge relating to the communications infrastructure and e-
payment as well as legislation and regulation areas regarding electronic
mobile. Through the growing desire and intention of interviewees to use
M-PESA and provide useful information for regulators, financial
institutions and providers of electronic payment service via mobile, to
enable them to develop and implement appropriate service for users of
M-PESA strategies, which meets their expectations, and can lead in turn
to increase the desire to use the M-PESA service.
