Consider beekeeping and honey production of the most promising areas however few studies around.
The study was conducted in the South Kordofan State with is located 165 Km South-West of the Alobied city in the period from 2012 – 2014.
The study aimed to evaluate the activity of beekeeping and honey production associations between beekeepers in areas within the state of South Kordofan was divided by the number of associations the locality.
The results showed significant differences between the number of users in different localities where we find the highest in Gadeer locality(83 users) and the lowest in the LAGAWA locality(7 users). and the highest percentage for the distribution of modern beehive in Heiban locality(360 modren beehives) and the lowest in the LAGAWA locality(14 modren beehive).
And also there are clear differences for the spread Pests of honey bees in some localities in the state, and no recorded the Varroa parasitic infestation in different societies.
The study concluded that the system used in the establishment of qualifying courses and stimulate traditional beekeepers by providing them with modern beehive has a clear impacting the growth and development of beekeeping in the State.
