Abstract:
This research (contracts used in the construction industry in Sudan
(exploratory study) ) deals with the commonly used types of contracts in the
construction industry in Sudan and discusses the deficiencies that always occur
besides seeking their remedies and solutions.
The research problem refers to the defects in the application of these types
of contracts and identifies causes behind the failures and mistakes that arise
during the lifecycle of many construction projects.
The research hypothesis indicates that the project contract helps to achieve
the goal of the project smoothly and the contract documents affect heavily the
implementation and operation of the project tasks. It also assumes that the parties
to the contract may have strong role in the incidence of problems and various
outcomes.
The researcher follows scientific methodology were a questionnaire was
structured to include all aspects of the problem covering the hypotheses of the
research. The questionnaire was tested first and then were distributed to the well
selected sample which had been abstracted from the population in the field.
The collected data was tabulated, analyzed and interpreted having the
theoretical part as reference.The hypotheses test were done to ensure
compatibility between the perspective of the researcher and the respondents
about the hypotheses.
After discussing the analyzed and interpreted results the research ended
up general recommendations which could help in mitigating the effect of the said Problemsd
