Abstract:
In recent years, the lost of personnel properties such as vehicle, laptops, briefcase
and smart mobiles were increasing at an alarming rate around the world. People
have started to use the monitoring and theft control systems installed in their
properties based on Global System Mobile (GSM) and/or Global Positioning
System (GPS). Unfortunately, the cellular network and GPS are not available in
all places throughout the country such as forests, deserts and uninhabited areas,
and inside the tunnels as well as the high power consumption and installation
cost. Therefore, the wireless sensor network techniques were proposed to
overcome theses shortages. The main aim in this thesis is to design and realize a
simple, low cost and low power consumption anti-theft and anti-forget system
for personal belongings using an inbuilt microcontroller and wireless sensor
network means. The proposed system was designed, simulated and implemented.
The obtained results show an acceptable performance level, even the estimated
distance from the received signal strength was crucially affected by the
surrounding environment.
