| Abstract: | Rosaries and Algerba Hydropower Plants were done respectively. This study shows briefly the technical data of both plants, it also describes the steps and procedures of the uprating ,and discusses the results of uprating according to the contract with National Electrity Corporation and according to the Standard Regulations and Modernization methods that have been applied in different projects in the world. The study shows different equations and procedures, and compares the results with that done in the hydropower plant in the Sudan, also the total cost of uprating compared with similar units in different projects. Finally it is believed that the uprating done in the both plants did not lead to improve the efficieny according to international standards , but uprating done in Rosaries Hydropower plant is more effective than that in the other plant because of low cost , improvement in efficiency , with only increased discharge ( no change in other parameter ). |
