dc.description.abstractABSTRACT This study has been carried out in the area of Bahry (Elsagai- Wad ramly and Elseleit) where vegetables and fodders are grown. Case study and social survey are used as research methods. The study aimed to know the agricultural extension practices used for tomato production and their effect on the increase of tomato production and the development of farmers income. A stratified random sample of 45 framers has been taken from tomato farmers population of 90 farmers the sample is 50% of population. The data of the study has been collected through primary methods like questionnaires, observation and interviews, in addition to secondary methods, like reports, reference, agricultural extension records, previous related research and internet. The collected data has been organized, tabulated, and then statistically analysed, using the statistical package for social sciences (spss), where a number of result have been obtained, some of which are mentioned below :- 1. 71.7% of respondents practice agriculture only. 5 2. 73.3% of respondents assured that the ercistence agriculture extension activities for tomato production. 3. 60% of respondents assured that the agricultural extension activities are enough to meet their needs. 4. 60 % of respondents use tomato production technology given through extension activities. 5. 55.6 % of respondents assured that the agricultural extension activities improved their level of income and their level of living. 6. 53, 3 % of the respondents assured that the agricultural extension activities have improved their ability to take decisions. 7. 55, 6 % of the respondents assured that the agricultural extension activities increase tomato productivity. The study gave a number of Recommendations some of which are mentioned blow: 1. The agriculture extension organization should be strongly supported to enable it to carry out its duties properly. 2. Marketing facilities have to be open for farmers to avoid marketing losses. 3. More aware ness extension activities have to be provided to farmers in addition to the availability of improved seeds.en_US
