Abstract: The present study aims at the impact of the English Spelling System on Secondary School EFL learners’ Pronunciation of Words encountered by secondary school EFL learners . The aims of this study are; to explore the nature of English spelling and consider how the possible problematic areas for students interms of pronunciation;to identify students‘problems in relation to the pronuciation of English words ;to help sudanese secondary school EFL learners to improve their pronunciation of words . The researcher has followed the quantitative analytical method to analyze the results.
