Abstract: This study aims to investigate the promotion of speaking and writing skills through integrating sounds and spelling, also the transcription of the phonemic symbols of the forty-four phonemes of English language and their spelling. The sample of the study consists of thirteen students, they are chosen randomly through experimental test. The problem which the study investigates that English language students have a little background of the phonemics transcription and pronunciation awareness of English language. The study examines the pronunciation awareness among the students of third year at Omdurman Ahlia University; the researcher found that phonemic transcription is actually a problematic area for most students or even for the majority of learners of English language. Students should be conscious of their errors in pronunciation or transcription and they should treat the problem. The study recommends that by the beginning of secondary education the learners should be able to develop adequate awareness of the totality forty-four phonemes. Serious care should be given to the University level pronunciation and transcription of the phonemes of English as whole, in addition to care should be given to develop the speaking skill to the best possible level. ا
