Abstract:
Ten forage maize genotypes were evaluated at winter season Shambat, College of Agricultural Studies, Sudan University of Science and Technology in fulfillment in the period from November 2017 to Feb. 2018. The experiment design was a randomized complete block design with three replications. Six growth and yield characters were measured, genotypic and phenotypic variances, heritability, genotypic and phenotypic coefficient of variation were determined. The results showed that there is significant differences for stem diameter and number of leaves and non significant differences for plant height, fresh weight, dry weight and leaf area. High estimates of heritability (h2) was obtained for leaf area and lowest estimates of (h2) was obtained number of leaves. The genotype (3) recorded the highest dry Weight of 3.92 (kg/F) among the studied genotypes
