Abstract:
This study aimed at investigating reading comprehension problems among EFL learners. The case study of second year Klakla Model Secondary School students . The researcher used a test to accept or refute the hypotheses mentioned in chapter one. The researcher also has used the descriptive analytical method to analyze the collected data . The study found out that the EFL learners face many problems such as slow reading, poor background knowledge, lack of vocabulary and lack of reading habits . The researcher recommended that families and teachers should concern building rich background knowledge by encouraging students to read materials full of cultural information . Teachers should choose short text according to students’ level and devote enough time for silent reading
