The status of available potassium in some soils of Khartoum state

Abstract

This study was carried out for the investigation of plant available potassium. Seven soilsamples were collected from three areas within Khartoum state from the depths of 0 – 30cm.The areas are, selit-north agricultural scheme(4 samples), suba(2 samples), and western Omdurman(1 sample). The soilsamples were chemically and physically analyzed. The amount of available potassium varied from (0.5 to 2 mEq/100g), the status of plant available potassium in whole samples classified as sufficient (class1).
