Abstract: This is a descriptive cross sectional study conducted to o b t a i n i n f or m a t i o n a b o u t t h e i n c i d e n c e o f H e a p a t i t i s B , Hepatitis C, HIV and syphilis among the blood donors a t t e n d i n g C e n t r a l B l o o d B a n k i n P o r t S u d a n t hr o u g h o u t t h e period between October 2009 till March 2010. B l o o d d o n or s w e r e i nf o r m e d a b o u t t h e s t u d y , e x p e c t e d o u t c o m e a n d a gr e e m e n t of p a r t i c i p a t i o n w a s o b t a i n e d , q u e s t i o n n a i r e w a s u s e d t o c o l l e c t t h e i n f or m a t i o n a b o u t patients age, history of blood transfusion and past medical history. Blood samples was collected, it were used to investigate t h e H B s A g , H C V , H I V a n d s y p h i l i s b y S D B I OL I NE r a p i d t e s t s . C o m p u t e r i z e d s t a t i s t i c a l p a c k a g e f or s o c i a l s c i e n c e s v er s i o n 11.5 were used to determine the samples size, and in s u b s e q u e n t d a t a pr o c e s s i n g . t h e r e s u l t s s h o w e d t h a t t h e f r e q u e n c y o f H B s A g , HI V , S y p h i l i s , H C V a r e 1 7 % , 4% , 4 % , 0%. T h e p e r c e n t a g e w e r e c o m p a r e d w i t h o f o t h er c e n t e r s . The relation between positively to these diseases with history of blood transfusion was also assessed.
