Abstract: The expansion in the demand which faces by GAM substation causes voltage stability problems and makes the voltage out of the allowable limits. The purpose of this project is to compensate the reactive power for improve the voltage in GAM substation, SVC was used to investigation this purpose. In this study the analyses of load flow have done by ETAP software in the normal loading condition, 50% and 150% of loading by using three different SVCs and MATLAB software was used to study dynamic state. The important results were obtained that voltage was improved, good results obtained when the rating of SVC in substation was increased. Also when SVC at bus33kv.
