In a visit to a researcher to an ill person, who was admitted in a hospital
in grand Khartoum. He lost the location of the patient warden building which
seems full of patients and visitors. The researcher was insulted by a bad
internal environment of patient wardens. This picture was fixed in the
researcher mind, whom demands to contribute in changing such status in the
patients wardens of hospital in Khartoum state. This research orients around the
adoption of the internal environment of the patient warden, and the nursing
units in Khartoum hospital, which suffers poorness and ignorance. The bad
internal environment of patient’s wardens in Khartoum hospital, it never helps
to rest patients and aids the medical staff to perform its work.
The research aim at providing the patients needs in the wards including
rest, calmness, light, colors, ventilation, and the feeling of well being so as to
improve the inner environment of the wards and to improve the physiological
status of the patients in order to help his fast heeling. Also the research aims at
providing a good environment that helps the medical staff to perform their
work.
To realize such objective, the research considers the four factors of the
internal environment of the wardens: lighting and colors, the isolation of noise
from the warden, a ventilation, and good internal ventilation at the wardens.
The researcher supposed from the lighting side not to consider directing
lighting leads to the presence of the lighting reflection in case of the increase
bright lighting, since the beds and windows are facing in wardens. Also the
uncontrollable lighting, and the unavailable lighting tasks (here as reading
lighting, and light for investigation and complicated investigation...etc.) in
colors side, dis considering selecting suitable colors, and placing it without
study to the warden specialty and its type. In case of the isolation of noise from
the warden, uncontrollable and undesirable noise leads to the lack of rest in
wardens. From ventilation point of view, the presence of the internal bad
control systems, and the lack of adeget inside air leads to impossible control of
infection transfer in the warden. Also it leads to discomfort to anyone who uses
the place, (patients, medical staff and visitors).
The research used the descriptive analysis as a methodology for the
study based on observation and evaluation, to ensure the correct hypotheses of
the research to reach the required objectives. A case study was conducted in
five chosen wards of Khartoum Hospital, and in field visits, to collect the
necessary data from patients, visitors and medical staff, and from observation
and visions from reality by the researcher. Data is analyzed by matrix method ,for easy show of data and its analysis (finding the four factors) and adding
remarks.
The most important results after approving the comectnese of the
hypotheses. Is that all of the study samples suffer from the paper direction of
light, and the presence of extreme glair in natural lighting. The unavailable
function of light, also all the samples used colors without a scientific study, and
without any consideration for the type of wards. Most of the samples suffer
from bad ventelation and bad quality of air inside wards, which leads to lack of
comfort. All five research samples suffer from lack comfort resulting from
noise from wards.
The research recommends the essential control of the natural lighting
through providing curtains and changes the position of the vertical beds on the
outer walls, we should not put light reflection colors on the ceiling of wardens
prohibiting reflection and stopping eye excretion. We recommend to consider
ceiling, and to break regularity by positioning painting or wall drawings on
ceilings. Also we recommend less family members and less numbers of
patient’s followers to provide calmness, finding regulations to rest net
calmness, also should consider providing good inside air by removing of rotten
air, smells, undesired gases by exhausting or other ways. |
