Abstract

This study was conducted in the northern sector of the Gazira scheme –in el Turabi Office. Which aimed to find out the reasons for lack of representation of women farmers in the union of Gazira Scheme Farmers and its impact on services provided to them? it was selected a random sample of farmers consisting of 92 farmers from 12 villages depended of El Turabi Office of and by women farmers and a discussion group composed of 21 is a member of the Executive Office for Gazira scheme farmers union. it was used a survey method by questionnaire and then the social survey . the data which were collected were analyzed through the computer using the statistical analysis, SPSS. The study has concluded the following results: - 1 - The study showed that to 83.7% of farmers aged between (31-52 years). 2 – The study showed that to 65% of farmers are illiterate. 3 - The study showed that the number of women farmers more than 15 000 farmers in the scheme. 4 - The study showed that all farmers report that lack of representation of women farmers in the Union 5 – The study showed that 78.3% of farmers report that inequalities in the provision of services. 6 - The study showed that all farmers not to assert their knowledge of the socalled interdependence, which is money deducted from their profits annually from the income of the cotton crop. 7 – All of the Union members confirmed that they are non-representation of women in the Union. 8 – All the Union members confirmed that the number of farmers more than 15 000 farmers in the scheme. 9 - The Union members confirmed that there is equality in the provision of services between the farmers, including women. Accordingly, we recommend the following: - 1 - Give due importance to the problem of illiteracy through the expansion of adult education and literacy. 2 - The need to represent the women farmers in the farmers union in the Gazira scheme 3 - The need for equality in the provision of services between the farmers in the scheme, including the women farmers. 4 - Urged financial institutions not to deal with the fear of women farmers
