dc.description.abstract In the 20 years radiology has undergone rapid advancement and today it often plays a center role in diagnosis management and even treatment of patient's problems. The increasing importance of radiology in clinical medical has led to the inclusions of the subject in medical school curriculum worldwide. U\S is now the most widely used and important imaging investigations and It is used by a wide range of healthcare professionals across many applications. In this study the researcher reviewed the gross anatomy of the gall bladder , the radiographic and sonographic anatomy of the gall bladder, physiology , pathology of, imaging of the gall bladder and abnormal of gall bladder . There were 171patients of cholelithiasis have been screened. in 5 hospitals and diagnostic centers. Out of 171cases of cholelithiasis there were 37 (22%) male patients and 134(81.2%) were female patients .Chronic Cholecytitis represented the majority of patients145 (85%) while acute cholecystities represented26 (15% ) The high incidence of gallstone in age group 31 – 40 years. The youngest patient in our study was 20 year old female. While the oldest was 75 years old male. The study showed the female patients were found to be more affected than others cases. Ultrasound is the most accurate diagnostic tool for the gallstone diseases. Abdulatif Elrufaie K.S.A 2007-2008 en_US
