dc.description.abstract The study investigated the impact of lexical collocation on improving students' vocabulary and paragraph writing. The problem of the study was summarized in the main question; to what extent can lexical collocation improve vocabulary and paragraph writing what are University teachers' attitudes toward using lexical collocation in developing students writing? To what extent are EFL learners aware of lexical collocation (verb + noun) (adjective + noun) knowledge when writing paragraph the study investigated the University teachers attitudes toward using lexical collocation on improving students' paragraph writing via questionnaire by hand from the teachers' perception during teaching process the result was positive the study also tested the undergraduate students who studying English as a foreign language of Al-Nour College focusing on (verb + noun) (adjective + noun) collocation via pre and post tests the results showed that students in the pre test facing many difficulties of collocation but in the post test they did well by concentrating on teaching collocation, teachers resolve the problems of writing as general and paragraph writing particular, EFL learners are not aware of lexical collocation when they proceed to higher levels . The study also recommended a number of recommendations, including teachers should enable students to be aware of collocation through making more emphasis on collocation while teaching process. en_US
