dc.description.abstract This is a hospital based analytical retrospective case control study, conducted at Ribat university hospital, Omdurman military hospital, Soba university hospital and Sudan university of science and technology – college of medical laboratory science, during the period from July to October 2016. This study aimed to detect the expression of E-Cadherin in endometrial tumors, using immunohistochemistry. Forty paraffin blocks were collected from patient previously diagnosed as endometrium tumors, 20 (50%) were malignant and 20 (50%) were benign. The paraffin blocks were cut by rotary microtome, and then stained immunohistochemicaly by new indirect method (dextran labeled polymer). The obtained data was analyzed using SPSS program version 20; the mean, frequency and Chi-square test were calculated. Positive expression of E-Cadherin was found in 17 (42.5%) sample, and negative expression found in 3 (7.5%) sample in both benign and malignant tumors. This result showed insignificant association of E-Cadherin expression and endometrial tumors (P. value = 1.00). The age of patients were ranged between 25 to 85 years with mean age of 56.35 years. The study revealed that most of patient were older than 60 years representing 22 (55%) and the remaining 18 (45%) were younger than 60 years. The study concludes there is no association between E-cadherin expression and endometrial tumors. en_US
