dc.description.abstract In this work, we describe the distinctive features of semiconducting polymers that have motivated their study as laser gain media. This study comprises the spectral properties of conjugated polymer poly (9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl) end-capped with 2,5-diphenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole(ADS429BE) in several organic solvents. The Photophysical characteristics such as absorption, fluorescence spectra, stokes' shift, and quantum yield of this conjugated polymer were measured in different solvents and different concentrations. The amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) performance of this polymer under various concentrations, organic solvents, and pump pulse energies of Nd: YAG lasers (355nm) were investigated. The effect of concentration and pump power energies of this polymer were obtained. The most important features are PFO has an excellent photochemical stability, and the ASE emission is tunable in the wavelength region between 425 and 475nm. en_US
