dc.description.abstract This research was conducted in Khartoum State during the period from December2015 to April 2016 to investigate the utilization of camel milk as therapy (cure) for certain diseases. The data was obtained mainly by using questionnaire distributed to 75 individuals representing Khartoum, Khartoum North and Omdurman, 25 per each area .Results obtained indicated that all respondents (100%) agreed that camel milk can be consumed as cure for diseases and not depending on gender, age, occupation or educational level. The most common diseases in concern included the problems of digestive system, diabetes, malnutrition, blood pressure, sexual impotence, in addition to many other diseases. Information about the effectiveness of camel milk was known to the respondents from different sources such as, camel owners, family and friends, scientific research works, as well as mass media. The dose quantity in-take varies between 0.5-1 and 1-2pounds milk/day and was taken early morning or night or combination of both, with or without other additives, Raw, strained and not boiled. Health improvement of (97.3%) of the questioned consumers was reached after use, regardless of kind of disease to treat. Results showed also, that (81.5%) of respondents used camel milk without being interested in type of breed, age of the she camel or pasture and nutrition standard. The source of the milk was either from camel milk farms or directly from the market, with varied prices, but still the price of camel milk is more cheaply compared to ordinary medical drugs and available in most cases. The utilization of camel milk as a cure for specific disease has many advantages, of which its effectiveness, high nutritive value beside the low cost associated with the treatment. Finally certain recommendations were given. en_US
