dc.description.abstract |
This study was conducted in Khartoum State to assess the impact of the application of OHSAS 18000 in the reduction of accidents and waste of resources in the oil industry in Sudan from 2008 to 2013. OHSAS 18000 System is international certificate in occupational health and safety management system specification; It comprises two parts OHSAS18001 and OHSAS 18002, which is aimed to help the control of professional organizations to manage health and safety risks. The study relied on the views of a sample of individuals working in the field of petroleum in a company operating in Sudan and adopted the default search model which was built after a review and analysis of the literature relevant to the subject under the core premise of the origin of a group of sub-hypotheses. As well as the method was used in the statistical analysis of the data using a computer program (SPSS). Objective of the study is to illustrate that commitment to the proper application of the system OHSAS 18000 leads to reduce the rate of accidents and injuries, thus reducing the cost of non- conformal, which means that more efficient and effective performance of the institution has achieved the highest degrees of securing the safety of their employees.
This study attempted to clarify the foundations of two axes and two strategic role for the quality management system requirements and the application of occupational health and safety OHSAS 18000 on the one hand and the waste of resources, and accidents and injuries on the other hand. This study showed a correlation between the reduction of waste of resources, and accidents and injuries and application system OHSAS 18000 as well as to build a culture of safety and prevention a positive role in the tool Foundation and the efficient management of effective safety increases the overall performance of the institution, based on the results the study concluded that there is a positive relationship between reducing the waste of resources, and accidents and injuries and the application of the requirements of OHSAS 18000 system and that there is a relationship between the overall objectives of the organization with regard to occupational safety and health and the application of the system OHSAS18000. The study found a number of recommendations, including Publication of protection culture reduces the wastage of resources in the organization. Considering safety as a system based on the use of scientific facts reduces occupational exposures, Reduce accidents before they occur depending on the identification and knowledge of dangerous places for the safety of workers. |
