Abstract:
The present experiment was designed to detect
the response of laying hens receiving diet
supplemented with
feed acidifier .
One hundred and ninety two
laying hen
of
(39 ) weeks of age were distributed randomly into
two groups each group with ( sixteen ) replicates
contained ninety six laying hens ( six hens /
replicate ) . They were reared for ten weeks from 5 Th
December 2005 – to – 12 Th February 2006 at Kuku
Poultry Research Farm - Animal production Research
Center . In this experiment ,
Group ( A ) were fed on
control diet while group ( B ) ( treatment ) were fed
on diet supplemented with Organic acids
( Premacid ) at rate of 0.3 % Ton feed . All diets were
similar in crude protein , energy with the same level
of essential amino acids according to the
recommendation of
( N.R.C 1984 )
Results obtained in the present study indicated
that group fed on diet (treatment diet ) showed no
significant difference ( P > 0.05 ) for the data offeed intake , egg production , egg mass , egg weight
, egg shell thickness , shell weight , yolk index , yolk
weight , haugh unit and albumen PH .
The present study concluded that supplemental
of organic acids to the diets of laying pullets did not
improve egg production and egg quality characteristics
