Abstract:
This study aims at investigating the difficulty encountered by Fur students in pronouncing English consonant sounds. It focuses on identifying the problems faced by Fur native speakers in learning English as a foreign language, to explore reasons behind problems faced by Fur native speakers in learning English as a foriegn language. The researcher adopted analytical descriptive method. Tools of the study test for the students and interview for the teachers while the population of the study is the Fur native speakers learning English as a foriegn language. The research randomly sampled 10 respondents across the level of learning and the data from the test was analyzed using simple percentage. The study reveals that there are some problems in pronouncing some English consonant sounds like differences in consonant sounds between Fur and English cause difficulties for the Fur native speakers who study English as a foreign language. The study recommends that students should be exposed to spoken English by listening to news in English on radio, dialogue, films and TV. The study Suggest some studies similar that can be carried out in different geographical area or setting in the area of vowels sounds of the two languages.
تهدف هذه الدراسة الى تقصي الصعوبات التي يواجهها طلاب الفور في نطق الأصوات الانجليزية الساكنة ، و تهدف هذه الدراسة إلي تحديد الصعوبات التي يواجهها طلاب الفور في تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة اجنبية ,و استكشاف الاسباب وراء الصعوبات التي يواجهها طلاب الفور في تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة اجنبية . اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي حيث استخدم اختبار للطلاب والمقابلة للمعلمين كوسائل رئيسية لجمع البيانات الدراسة في حين أن مجتمع الدراسة هم الناطقين بلغة الفور الذين يتعلمون اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اجنبية , وقد شملت عينة الدراسة عشرة دارسين , وكانت البيانات من النسب المئوية للعينة التي تم تحليلها . وأهم النتائج التي توصلت اليها الدراسة هي أن الاختلافات في أصوات لغة الفور والانجليزية تسبب صعوبات لطلاب الفور الذين يتعلمون اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اجنبية. ومن أهم توصيات الدراسة يجب أن يتعرض الطلاب للغة الانجليزية المنطوقة من خلال الاستماع الي الاخبار باللغة الانجليزية في الاذاعة والحوارات والافلام والتلفزيون . أقترحت الدراسة المزيد من الدراسات مثل اجراء دراسات مماثلة في منطقة جغرافية أخرى او الصعوبات التي يواجهها طلاب الفور في الاصوات المتحركة في اللغة الانجليزية .
