Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the extents to which English spelling constitutes difficulty to the basic level pupils at Al Kadaro schools. The aims of the research are to clarify the areas of difficulty in dealing with English spelling. The study hypothesized that spelling affect writing skills and that basic students are encountered by difficulty in writing English spelling. The researcher used the qualitative descriptive approach of analysis using the SPSS method to discuss this topic. The researcher found that the spelling creates real problems to the basic school students. This is proved through the test and the questionnaire given to the students in the area of Al Kadaro. And for the above findings, the researcher recommended the students to give priority to this grammatical category and that teachers should give students extensive exercises in this aspect.
