conventional X-ray versus MRI.
Lumbar spine X-rays and MRI images were obtained from seventy patients.
For analysis of both X-rays and MRI findings, data were first summarized in to
data master sheet, and then analyzed by using simple statistical method , the data
collected were compared and the result showed, mild different between male and
female who had been examined , narrowing disc space and disc bulge often
affects the lumbar spine in people at age (36-50) years, X-ray cannot detect disc
bulge while MRI revealed them by 80% of cases, X-ray cannot detect
spondylitheisis while MRI revealed them by 10% of cases. In conclusion MRI is
more accurate than X-ray in detecting the lumbar disc problems.
