Abstract:
Kohl is a traditional powder-like mixture, such as powdered antimony sulfide, used as cosmetic eyeliner and to treat eye diseases in many Middle and Far East countries.
This research deals with the applications of spectroscopy, which is the detection of some elements of the original Kohl Al-Ethmed and the non-original Kohl Al-Ethmed and the concentration of these elements by X-Ray Fluorescence device and the comparison between them. Some elements were found in the original Kohl Al-Ethmed; which found chromium element and its concentration 0.00%, manganese element, concentration 27.00%, Iron element and its concentration was 0.28%, nickel element, its concentration 4.00%, copper element, its concentration 0.00%, zinc element, its concentration 0.02 %and lead element and its concentration 20%.
In non-original Kohl Al-Ethmed sample there were no elements concentrations except zinc and lead, t zinc element, its concentration 2.9% and lead element and its concentration was 97.9%, so the original kohl Al-Ethmed is better for eye.
