Abstract:
The Book "The Leadership Star ", written by Mr. Iftikhar Khan,
consists of 206 pages of medium-sized pages and is divided into
seven chapters. The book deals mainly with the concept of
leadership and tries to set up an independent space for the concept
of leadership within the related studies of administration science.
The author believes that there is an evident confusion between the
concept of leadership and that of management among a large
number of those who are interested in this subject, as they do not
tend to differentiate between the two concepts.
We have translated the first and second chapters in addition to a part
of the third chapter of the book. The first chapter deals with the
concept of leadership and tries to find a definition by reviewing
many definitions from many writers in this field of studies. The
second chapter handles the theoretical framework of the leadership
concept and sets boundaries between it and other misconceptions
taking the concept of leadership away from the concept of
management. In the third chapter the author offers a presentation of
the leaders’ tasks such as: strategic planning and supervision, and
hints that it is not the job of the leaders to look after the routine
works, which should be done by themanagers.
