Abstract: The position control system one of the interesting term in control system Engineering. Nowadays, several control system algorithm have been applied in that application. PID controller is a well-known controller and widely used in feedback control in industrial processes. In position control system, PID controller sometimes cannot accurate for this application because of nonlinear properties. Therefore in this research, the fuzzy logic controller is proposed to overcome the problem of PID controller. Fuzzy logic controller has ability to control the nonlinear system because of the algorithm is concentrate by simulating the expert and implemented in language. Based on the experimental result, the fuzzy logic controller designed able to improve the performance of the position control system compared to the PID controller in term of reduced settling time, overshoot and oscillation can be reduced.
