The medical equipments deal with the health and human life. For this reason it should be maintained and taken care of very properly. Wrong diagnosis sometimes very dangerous and may lead to loss of human life. For this reason the unit which takes care of the maintenance of these equipments should be well designed in all aspects, so that it can carry its duties in a reasonable manner and in acceptable standard. From my experience and observations, I found that this service must be promoted. I hope this research will be have value in the field and site of the study and may be as well to medical institutions using imaging devices inside the country. No previous studies in the subject are found in the library. I used descriptive and practical investigations. Statistical method to present analysis by percentage in graphs. The sample of the study:- 1- is the imaging devices in the imaging department which are:- a- Conventional x- ray units. b- Ultrasound units. c- Computer tomography unit. d- Magnetic resonance imager. 2- The image devices maintenance unit and the type of maintenance offered. 3- Similar maintenance unit a broad، like Egypt and Siemens Company imaging devices lab. Data sheets used as tools for data collection and eight data sheets were designed for this purpose. Practical investigations, interview observation were data collection apparatus. ii Text books, internet were interrogated for the purpose of searching literature deal with the physics, instrumentation and quality assurance and quality control. Practical experience, and companies' repair and quality assurance manuals were sources for listing the most common problems and faults. The collected data was analyzed by percentage on graphs and hence results were deduced from that. Discussion was made and we come to a conclusion that the maintenance is not the ideal one. Some recommendations were given dealing with the design of the maintenance unit, they include the general duties and jobs , the different unit sections , the jobs and duties of the different sections , the staff intake ,on job training , the purposed training institution , the unit building and the measuring instruments and repair tools . Other recommendations concerning the spare parts, the policy of the introduction and purchase of new equipment were given. All reference books were listed. Data sheet were deposited as an appendix.en_US
