dc.description.abstractThis thesis presents comparison of conventional model reference adaptive control (MRAC) using PID with model reference adaptive control scheme using fuzzy linear adaptation(MRFAC). Model Reference Adaptive control (MRAC) does not achieve consistent satisfactory performance over wide range of speed demand, especially at low speed since there is no defined rule to guide designer to choose the adaptation gains. fuzzy logic model reference adaptive control maintains satisfactory response irrespective of input magnitude and it enhances the performance of the DC drive compared to conventional MRAC.en_US
