In this research spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNOs) were designed by the use of simulation software and the characteristics and the different factors affecting it were investigated. STNOs that produced signals of frequencies up to 4GHz, were designed. Furthermore, the different parameters that affect the frequency and the amplitude of the generated signal were investigated. An individual STNO can produce signal power of about 1 nano watts. Therefore in this research it was proved that the power generated increased as the number of STNOs stacked together increase. It was also found that nano-oscillators generate signals of comparatively high oscillation frequency and they are more stable than electronic oscillators and do not emit heat like the magnetron. The oscillation frequency is inversely proportional STNO size. It was found that the micromagnetics simulator was not able to give any results for any nano-oscillator designs that are less than 50nm in length. Therefore, the maximum frequency obtained by these designs was 4GHz. Nano-oscillators can be used in communication, data storage devices and biomedical devices.en_US
