Abstract: Economical utilization of bagasse in Kenana Sugar Factory as a source of heat energy and power for operating the entire plant and sub-plants like Ethanol and Animal feed has greatly reduced the dangers posed by bagasse as regards to its storage, handling and fire hazards due to its fermentation and decomposition. Bagasse combustion in the boilers to generate steam in terms of cost is far less by 43% compared to steam generated by furnace oil as indicated in table (4-5). Also its economical utilization as a raw material for animal feed products has significant reduction in the production cost of the cattle feed products, because it is considered free of charge compared to other raw materials like urea, calcium carbonate, dura etc. Therefore, the economic utilization of bagasse as a renewable source of energy in Kenana Sugar Factory compared to fossil fuel should not be under-estimated because its utilizations has a lot of benefits ranging from low cost of energy generation to low production cost of cattle feed products. The objectives of the research were reached through data collection, analysis and interpretation.
