Abstract: Dry air compressor based in PLC system, was developed to be controlled, protected and operated by old PLC (Allen Bradley) which was American product, this product has been obsolete from international market so no more spare parts and technical support can be delivered. In this thesis the same logic design, logic flow chart and hardware configuration of Allen Bradley has been studied and modified to be compatible with Direct Logic 205. Logic configuration done, communication setup carried out and hardware modified to be suitable for the new arrangement. The whole compressor system connected with a distributed control system (DCS) through direct physical wires to give the operator a provision of remote operation (START/STOP) and system status monitoring. Also the PLC configuration incorporated through mod bus with a pre configured local controller for local operation in case of any PLC or communication failure.
